Whether you are feeling overwhelmed with your daily life or want to take a weekly 75-min class to build emotional strength and resilience, this introductory short course is a great learning experience into the world of mindfulness and its benefits.

This course is a complement to the 8-week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Program. 

Stress Reduction through Attention Training is designed to reduce stress and increase a sense of well-being and resilience.

What is Mindfulness? Mindfulness is a basic human quality. Training in mindfulness and the intentional cultivation of moment-by-moment, non-judgmental focused attention and awareness has spread from its initial western applications in medicine to other fields, including education.

The practice of mindfulness supports and strengthens the capacity of the mind to be fully in the present moment instead of controlled by habits of worrying about the future or being stuck in the past.

The 6-week series will include mindfulness practices including mindful movement, discussions on the effects of stress on the mind and body, mindfulness and it’s benefits personally and professionally, and applying mindfulness in everyday life. All are welcome and no experience is necessary.
